BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization that saves and transforms lives by providing food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience, assisting 97 million people in 88 countries each year. In Venezuela, WFP provides food assistance through a school meals program, aiming to reach 1.3 million people in areas with the highest incidence of food insecurity by the end of 2025.
WFP Venezuela has an operational presence in eleven states, with the possibility of expansion. Under the supervision and guidance of the Program Associate – RAM of each Field Office Area and the RAM team in Caracas, the Program Assistant – RAM will be responsible for supporting the management and implementation of the monitoring, evaluation, follow-up, and learning exercises scheduled for each Field Office. This will be achieved through the collection of quantitative and qualitative data according to the stipulated monitoring schedule. The Program Assistant will also be responsible for conducting the corresponding qualitative follow-up exercises and analyses to develop the process and outcome indicators stipulated in our logical framework.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The holder of the position will have the following responsibilities:
Provide support functions for project management, monitoring and general office support in accordance with established objectives and WFP policies and procedures.
Support the implementation of the monitoring activity plan and the collection of quantitative and qualitative data in line with the field office plan and in line with the country office strategy.
To train and guide implementing partners in the different follow-up activities to ensure their development, collection of quality data and compliance with the indicated representative samples.
Develop best practices for follow-up activities and contribute to lessons learned exercises.
Coordinate with partners regarding beneficiary registration activities, make adjustments to the registry, and produce delivery lists.
Perform a thorough and timely task of consolidating information and registering data, ensuring the consistency of the information presented to stakeholders.
Conduct site visits to monitor the distribution process and ensure it complies with WFP standards.
Record qualitative field findings in the matrix provided for this purpose and share these findings with the OT and the MEAL Caracas team.
Conduct field visits to carry out qualitative and quantitative data collection exercises, focus groups and interviews to inform on the implementation and process of the program; and follow up on the exercises carried out by WFP implementing partners.
Perform transcriptions and analysis of the focus groups conducted in the field.
Ensure the collection, analysis of data, observations, and feedback from implementing partners and beneficiaries to help determine programmatic issues with the ultimate goal of fostering operational efficiency.
Perform other required activities at the request of the supervisor and that are in line with the purpose of the position.
Report findings that affect the proper implementation of the program in all its forms.
Supporting evidence production and reporting in the OT.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Completion of secondary education. A university degree will be considered an asset.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-secondary work experience. One year in the humanitarian/development sector, data collection and analysis, and report writing is desirable.
Skills: Proficient in basic Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Interviewing techniques, data digitization.
Languages: Fluent in spoken and written Spanish.
